The CARMS is a sleep clinic and a large research team from the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center of the North of the Island of Montreal, located at the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal. The CARSM was founded in 1977 by Doctor Jacques Montplaisir, a psychiatrist and researcher recognized internationally for his work on sleep disorders.
Our mission is to generate new knowledge about sleep as well as to understand, diagnose, treat and prevent sleep disorders. We work with scientists, clinicians and the general public to share the evolving knowledge about sleep and its disorders. Our Sleep Disorder Clinic has developed a unique expertise focused on the diagnosis and management of non-apneic sleep disorders.
